elydesiaBefore what I remember clearly, it is blurry. Something happened, and a ship was taken over. Among those taken, were an elderly couple. They are slaves to a powerful woman.
Sometime down the road, strange vein-like bruises appear on the old woman's lower back.
The powerful woman sends the old woman to see a specialist in another city by herself. After some time, the old woman phones home with bad news. There is a large infection/cyst, and it will pop soon. There is nothing that can be done. They say goodbye, and hang up the phone. The old woman has no intention of going back home. She slips off her wedding ring, bundles it up in multiple layers of tissue, and slips it inside the rim of a nearby trashcan before walking away to go die.
The old man begs the powerful woman to go find his wife, and she relents. The old man first visits the specialist's hospital, then heads to the park across the street. This is where his wife, the old woman, placed her call to him earlier. As he sits down on a bench, exhausted and scared, he receives a call on his cell. He picks it up, and another woman directs him to look inside a certain trash bin. The old man does, and finds the wedding ring. A jaded woman approaches the old man from behind, making him drop the ring. As he bends down to pick it up, he notices there is another ring on the ground embedded with purple jade. The woman behind him says she was going to do the same thing, but his wife had already done it. The old man says, "Great minds think alike," hoping to comfort the jaded woman, but she just scoffs at him before walking away. The old man keeps both rings.
