dragon age oc/oc drabble

[elydesia]

Tired and beaten, he stumbled through the front door of the room. With each footstep he took, dried and caked on mud fell from his boots. With a shudder, he dropped all his equipment on the floor next to the door.

Shortly after him came a woman with pink hair. She quietly closed the door behind her and shuffled aside the dried mud with her boots. "You're leaving a mess."

He sighed, exhausted, and climbed onto the only bed in the room. He sat up with his back against the wall and kicked off his filthy boots before pulling his knees into his chest. "I don't care."

"We're going to be stuck here a while, so I'd like to keep it at least livable," she said disapprovingly.

"But we'll move on eventually. After we get the job done, we'll just head somewhere else. ... Where's the next job?"

She frowned. "That doesn't matter right now, does it?" He wasn't looking at her; he was looking straight ahead at something she couldn't see. "Let's treat your wounds now." She grabbed the small pack of herbs from the only desk in the room and made her way to the bed. "Come here." She spoke with a gentle voice as she patted the edge of the bed.

He looked at her with cold eyes. "I won't use magic on you, I promise. Just good old bandages for you!" Like a caterpillar, he scooted forward to the edge of the bed and crossed his legs. She proceeded to tend to his wounds with a herb salve and some bandages.

She finished quickly and put the medicine away before setting up their equipment for the next day. She had left briefly to get a broom so she could sweep the floor of the dirt, and when she came back she saw he was asleep on the bed already. She smiled and said, "This man..."

She pulled out her journal and filled it with the day's events, but before she could finish he spoke to her:

"Alienne?" She turned around.

"Yes, Hallor?"

"Come to bed."

She smiled, then. "Gladly."
