Started a new save file in sims, this one for Moonlight Falls (Dad finally got it!)
With this new expansion, I've felt even more immersed in a fantasy-style living (I guess). I feel like I can come up with even more creative stories and backgrounds for my sims, and that makes me love them even more. I consider it a little hazardous to be in love with the sims you create, considering they eventually die www I've even considered changing the sim age to the "Epic" setting, but I figured that wasn't the right thing to do if I wanted multiple generations of sims.

In case you didn't know, the newest Sims 3 EP, Supernatural, gives us playable, "new" lifestates: fairy, werewolf, witch, ghost, and zombies. It also allows us to create vampires and ghosts in CAS, customizing them.

In the new save file, I created a household of three.
We have the siblings Asmund and So-mi Lee, and their family friend, Julian Grimm. So-mi is the older Lee sibling. Both of them are witches (males are called witches, too). Julian is a fairy. I'm really excited about these sims, because I can finally do fantasy things with things with them. I'll be sharing their past, their history together, and what I have planned for their future. But first, I'll give some general background information.

➽ The Lee family was once a very powerful, noble line of witches in the supernatural world. They helped everyone with their problems, and did their best to serve their town. This caused many supernaturals to enjoy the Lee family's company, with the fae at the very top. Even going so far as to pledge service to the Lee bloodline!

➽ However, after a fair number of generations, a new witch family moved into town: the Zades family. They moved into the town like a massive force, and changed how everything in the town worked. They were fantastic! Where the Lee family failed, the Zades family succeeded. Many who swore allegiance to the Lee bloodline suddenly switched to the Zades bloodline, and everything went downhill from there.

➽ Not long after the Zades family arrived, people began to notice strange happenings in town. People disappeared for days and when they turned up again, they had no idea what had happened. Some simply vanished, and others went insane. These were the humans slowly coming to realize about supernaturals.

➽ And so, first came the witch hunts. And then the bloodbaths, and many supernaturals living in the town didn't know what to do. They went to the Zades family for help, but even they were lost for action. Instead of doing something productive, they set point on the Lee family for revealing their secret.

➽ The Lee family was brutally hunted, and any supernaturals still aligning themselves with them would have been sought after as well. Asmund and So-mi's father, Callaghan Lee, escaped with his (then) young children, but Julian's father, a fae who still supported the Lee bloodline, stayed behind to give Callaghan time to get away.

➽ Callaghan, his children, and a young(er) Julian fled the town. They moved around a lot, from place to place to ensure their secret was safe. Callaghan died from transmutation one evening, and that very morning they cremated him, buried his urn, and moved to another town.

➽ Eventually, they reached Moonlight Falls, a secluded town where everyone already knows about supernaturals. Our "story" begins already a year after they arrived.

❝ Julian Grimm ❞

While his father was brave and well disciplined, Julian is not. Julian is a thin?weak? man? who is a bookworm, a coward, and unlucky. He has good manners and is a hopeless romantic. Because of the new "proper" trait, he wears formal attire most of the time.

When first arriving in Moonlight Falls, and for the duration of the past year, he was working as a gardener. But, as So-mi took up work as an alchemist, she began to use the garden more than he did. As a result, all his food produce was chucked in favor of the alchemy ingredients So-mi needed.

He enjoys tending to the garden, so he takes care of So-mi's growing ingredients while she harvests them daily. This teamwork gets the gardening done way faster than when Julian did it all himself.

About a month prior to the story's beginning, Asmund bought two bee keeping huts. Him being deathly allergic to bees and So-mi too busy to take care of them, Julian was left with being the beekeeper. However, as they were too much work to take care of, the household eventually sold one off. They still have the one hut, as it produces So-mi's daily staple of honey, and beeswax as an alchemic ingredient.

He's actually a bit of a dork. I think that's why he gets along so well with Asmund...

❝ So-mi Lee ❞

(this screenshot was taken after she became an Adult. So-mi is originally a Young Adult)

Being the first born child meant she was expected to live up to huge ideals. So-mi was meant to take over the Lee tradition and begin work as an alchemist as soon as she became of age, but the hunt after her family stalled all of that.

Being the oldest sibling, So-mi grew up a little callous. She's brooding, unflirty, and a total night owl. But, she is lucky, and proper. She was groomed to be proper, as being the first child in the Lee bloodline comes with a lot of responsibilities. It is the first child that is always meant to succeed the family.

While being a little difficult to handle, she is on very good terms with both her brother and Julian, as it was she who raised her brother, and Julian who raised her. Since finally taking up alchemy and becoming an alchemist, she's taken to locking herself up in the shed in the backyard. She only emerges in the early morning hours to pick the herbs she needs so they can dry for the day (after which she uses them in alchemy that night).

She doesn't care too much about how others perceive her in a personal matter, but she will do anything it takes to assure the Lee family remains a good name. She is a powerful witch.

❝ Asmund Lee ❞

First thing you need to know about Asmund, is that he's a huge dork. He's brooding, unlucky, and a huge looser. He stays up really late reading lots of books, and is usually the one doing the house chores. Where Julian can't help himself, Asmund just doesn't put effort into becoming a stronger person. He is very weak. He's really pale and doesn't go out often (only to work and the library).

For the first year in Moonlight Falls, all he did was sit up in the attic and read all night. He would then proceed to sleep all day. At least So-mi woke up before noon (even if she was sleep deprived). However, about eight weeks prior, Asmund got a job at the gypsy caravan as a fortune teller. So-mi frequently teases him about this, asking him if he's become a "great oracle" yet. He broods about this a lot.

As a full fledged witch, Asmund can and does use spellcasting. Although, his skill level is less than three, so he can't even duel his sister... He is very knowledgeable, though, mostly due to his excessive reading, and he's a great cook. It's too bad Julian prefers pollen punch and So-mi practically lives off of honey and hunger charms.

The household has only one cat, but a lot of miniature pets. About one of each (except rodent). It's usually Asmund who takes care of them all, but occasionally Julian helps, too. So-mi never helps with the pets, except her black cat, Signy (who is pampered to no end).

General Talk
I have to say, when it comes to keeping the house actually running, So-mi is no help at all. However, her job as an alchemist is what brings in all the moolah. I don't think the guys mind, but they worry about So-mi's health. Perhaps she uses too many hunger charms and invigorating potions... or she drinks too much honey.

I admit, with 2/3 household members being self employed, there was barely any contact with other sims for at least two sim weeks. It wasn't difficult, though, as they frequently visited the elixir shop, aboretum, and library (lol), so they didn't get the "stir crazy" moodlet.

As for their future, I've already started on it (in the save, at least). Julian and So-mi get married in a "private" wedding, at the house. Getting them together was actually a little difficult. Since Julian is a hopeless romantic and So-mi is unflirty. Originally I had wanted So-mi be the one to pursue Julian, who was all up in the air about their relationship (a fairy and a witch? With him being so much older? yeah right). But as I got to know them better, and form personalities in my head, I began to rethink my approach.

Because of So-mi's unflirty trait, I still used her to initiate romance, but it's actually Julian who wants to be with her. But how I've chosen her to initiate isn't just "getting them together" as you might think. Think about Julian's personality a bit. I surely would've given him the shy trait if it would fit. Julian just isn't the type to approach others with romance in mind. Sure, he's a hopeless romantic, but he's an idealist. He'll yearn for a breathtaking romance, but he won't go after it. Julian wants romance to come to him, and I'm sure So-mi knows this. I just highly doubt she doesn't.

This is why So-mi initiates romance. Julian wants it, and so does she. He's just not the type of person to go after it, though, so she will. She doesn't mind being a dominant female, I'm sure she is one. On a slightly different topic, Julian isn't the kind of person who thinks about sex, and quite frankly, neither is So-mi. All he wants is to be with the person he cares about the most, and she's too job oriented to spend time on things like sex. This is why they have only one daughter.

Their daughter's name is Ophelia Grimm. I know, it's not Lee, even if So-mi is the legitimate heir. To put it frankly, So-mi was disqualified as heir once she married Julian, but I don't think he knows that (and it's better to keep it that way). Unfortunately, Ophelia is not a supernatural. She has plane ol' human genes. I still think she's quite cute, here's a photo of her as a child (in formal ware). I'm having So-mi have Julian groom Ophelia to be a proper young lady, and I think this plan will succeed. So of course, Ophelia will eventually gain the "proper" trait, as well. As a child, she has clumsy, artistic, and night owl. She'll have a hard time in school (hasn't gone yet).

Despite being a full human, I've decided to give Ophelia a small point to her ears, since her father is a fairy after all... Just because she's neither fairy nor witch doesn't mean she can't inherit a few of their "unique" aspects!

As for poor Asmund... he gets to fortune teller rank ten in the mystic branch, and then marries his co-worker, Serena Durwood (yes, he breaks her current marriage up). He then has a son with her, named Riva Lee. Riva is younger than Ophelia by only a couple days.

Now, Serena is a witch, and a pretty damn good one, too (I've given her spellcasting 10 after she put out the fire on home lot during party). However, So-mi utterly hates Serena. So-mi often sets Serena on fire and freezes her, and casts curses on her. Of course, Serena dies, but I'm not yet sure how. So Riva becomes motherless, and Asmund moves back in with Julian and So-mi, along with Riva.

Before Riva becomes a child, Asmund dies, too. He dies by jellybean, as pathetic of a death that is. I still haven't achieved it in game, and Riva ages up in a day, so I'd better get Asmund eating those beans ASAP. Death by jellybean is, apparently, only a 1% chance. ugh.

Riva and Ophelia grow up together, and they become very close cousins. Despite So-mi having access to (and having a stockpile of) Everlasting Youth Elixirs, she refuses to use them. So-mi dies of old age (hopefully).

The household changes drastically after So-mi's death, as it is only Julian, Ophelia, and Riva left. Julian actually mans up, as he's become the sole provider for the two youths (they should be teen/YA by then). At this point, I'll be removing his "coward" trait and replacing it with something else. Not sure what exactly, yet. I think I'll also be getting rid of his "hopeless romantic" trait as well. So, around this time, the household will finally be able to use Bonehilda.

The household acquired Bonehilda from the previous owner of the house. And Julian, as a coward, constantly runs away from it. I didn't want to remove the coward trait, as it suits him so well, so I just stopped using Bonehilda. I considered it as Julian telling the others he's afraid of her. I'm sure So-mi thought it was pathetic, but accepted it, and Asmund accepted it right away. I planned it like this: after So-mi dies, Julian mans up, and he finally musters up the courage to use Bonehilda. She then takes care of the house (generally speaking), while Julian is out bringing in moolah.

After So-mi's death, Julian seals off the back shed, not allowing anyone inside. He also lets his garden die, and doesn't even dispose of the dead plants. He stays in the company of his family and Bonehilda, but that's about it. He looses friendship with everyone else.

Eventually, Ophelia and Riva move out together, to a more "in town" location. And then, Julian just up and disappears. The cousins return to their family home to live in it/take care of it.

In the future, Ophelia grows up to be a proper young lady. I'm tempted to give her the "supernatural fan" trait, but I doubt she'd be enthusiastic enough about supernaturals to have that a trait. She'll be working as a clerk at the day spa for a little bit, and then she continues on into business for a while. But when she moves back into the family home, she takes on alchemy. She befriends a werewolf / pack leader, and this is how she'll be getting her materials. I think she'll fall in love with the werewolf / pack leader, but I think the werewolves look really ugly... oh well.

As for Riva... as the head of the Lee bloodline, he has the responsibility of being an alchemist. Even though he loves sports. Even if sims aren't allowed to have two jobs, I can at least simulate it if one is a rabbithole and the other is self employed (not profession). So, Riva will become a star athlete, and an alchemist. He and Ophelia will be travelling down the path of alchemy together, even if they have to share the station in the shed.

Since both his parents were witches, of course Riva is also a witch. However, he does not level his spellcasting very high. I think only to three, so he can duel (he's a competitive sort of person).

...and that's about as far as I've thought. Note, Ophelia is only in day two of child stage as of now, and both Serena and Asmund are still alive. I'll be updating with oneshots.
